Tennis Coaching
Canterbury Tennis operate a number of coaching programs, ranging from junior player development, through to adult beginners.
Junior Coaching
Canterbury Tennis runs a comprehensive junior development progamme from 8 year olds up to our Regional Performance Centre which is one of the 6 Regional RPC operating nationally.
The first port of call for junior coaching should be through your local club - please contact the Junior Administrator of your local club to see what these clubs can offer. View list of Junior Administrators (PDF format)
To find a coach, follow this link to the Tennis NZ "Find a Coach" website.
Players can apply to be considered for places in the Canterbury Tennis Player Development Programme; however places are strictly limited. Each November younger players have the opportunity to be assessed by Canterbury Tennis regional coaches and gain spots for the following year in either the Performance 9's, 10's or Wilding Squad, depending on their initial assessment. Once involved in the Programme their performance is monitored by the regional coaches and promotion to higher squads.

Coaching Adult beginners
Easi-Tennis is a great concept to introduce adults to the game of tennis. The six 90-minute lessons will encompass the basic strokes of the game, together with the strategy needed to get underway.
The course is specifically designed for the adult beginner or the person who may not have played for many years and would like to regain confidence before playing again.
Small class numbers ensure every participant receives individual attention.
Courses run regularly throughout the Summer with the first course starting in September. View details of Easi-Tennis courses in Christchurch »
