Canterbury Tennis conduct a variety of Business House competitions for social through to competitive grades. These include outdoor competitions in the summer, and indoor competitions in the winter. There are a variety of different formats and grades for each competition.

Summer Business House

NOTE: Closing date for entries is 18th September 2010

Tuesday Night - "B" grade Social/Competitive

A summer-long competition designed for teams of a social competitive nature. First time teams may want to test the water in Wednesday night before taking on Tuesday nights.

Duration: Up to 15 weeks
Teams: Four players, up to 8 named in team
Matches: 6x 30 minute doubles per night (3 matches per player)
Format: Round Robin, with finals
Time: 6.00pm or 7.30pm start times
Courts: Outdoor hardcourts

Wednesday night - Social Grade

A brand new competition running up to Christmas for social teams still with a good understanding of the rules and average playing ability. A great first-time grade to enter. Teams doing well in this grade could consider moving to Tuesdays.

Duration: Up to 9 weeks
Teams: Four players, up to 8 named in team
Matches: 6x 30 minute doubles per night (3 matches per player)
Format: Round Robin, with finals
Time: 6.00pm or 7.30pm start times
Courts: Outdoor hardcourts

Winter Business House

There are limited spaces available for teams in the Monday and Wednesday night evening tennis leagues which are played Indoors at the Scenic Circle Hotels Tennis Centre starting shortly.

Monday is the most competitive league and currently there are 3 team spaces available. Wednesday night also provides a great opportunity for competitive doubles play leading into the season but unlike Monday does not feature as many Premier and Division 1 level players. There are curently 2 spaces available on a Wednesday.

The competitions starts on the week of the 5th of July and entries close on the 14th of June. Tuesday night is over subscribed.

Start date, 2nd competition:	Week commencing 5th July 2010
Times:	7.00pm to 8.30pm, or 8.30pm to 10.00pm (rotated)
Courts:	Indoor (Rebound Ace)
